This company is founded by Bob Parsons in 1997, who is also the founder of the software development company named Parsons Technology, Inc., GoDaddy has turned into the biggest ICANN qualified registrar and first registrar to exceed Network solutions in the number of total domain names registered by it. In 2001, GoDaddy won the Editor’s choice award of CNET and in 2002 and 2003 it won Name Intelligence Largest Net Gain Award, jumping from fifth to third largest registrar overall, trailing only from Tucows and Network solutions. GoDaddy group that includes Blue Razor as well as Wild West Domains, is currently world’s number one Domain Name Registrar.

Since the expanded growth of GoDaddy in the IT industry, it has contributed in the activities pertaining to the Internet in general. In recent years, GoDaddy prosecuted VeriSign, Inc., over the controversy of Site Finder that put a wildcard in all the domain names causing a site from VeriSign, to show if the domain name of the web site hadn’t been registered.
