Trend Micro is a global software development company. It develops computer software to protect against viruses. It is headquartering in Tokyo, Japan. The company was started in 1988 in California by a Taiwanese, Steve Chang, also the former CEO of trend micro. In 2004, the leadership was passed by Steve Chang to Eva Chen, co-founder of the company. She was also the chief technical officer of the company from 1996 to 2004. Inter Scan Virus Wall is one of the well known development of the Trend Micro.

Trend Micro is well known for developing the PC-Cillin series of anti virus software. House Call, an online, free, browser based anti virus, is the invention of Trend Micro. With the purpose of research and inform regarding world wide security intimidations, the company have an international worm/virus response center, known as Trend Labs.
